Care & support

Assisted Living staff work with residents to assess needs and preferences and make a personal service plan. Support can range from medication management to help with showering, bathing or dressing.

The Multi-Level Care team includes nurses, care aides, a social worker, gerontologist, recreation therapists, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, dietitian, rehabilitation assistants and chaplain. Options include long-term stays, respite, convalescent care, palliative support and out-of-town stays.

The Companion Program can add social companionship, accompaniment to outings and appointments, meal assistance, extra personal or exercise assistance, and light housekeeping.

Companions are independent contractors paid by families. They supplement, but do not replace, Weinberg Residence staff and cannot provide regulated healthcare services.

Rooms & living spaces

The 40 Assisted Living suites include a kitchenette, in-suite storage and a walk-in shower.

A furnished guest suite is available for trial stays of one week, two weeks or one month. Nightly rental is also offered without meals.

Everyday life

Residents are invited to weekly Shabbat sermons and special holiday services in the Chava and Abrasha Wosk Synagogue.

The residence is steps from the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver and within easy walking distance of Oakridge Park and Jewish Federation offices. Kerrisdale Village is described as a five-minute drive away.

Underground parking is limited and reserved for staff, residents and families. Free street parking is available on Osler Street.
