Simpson House is a historic landmark in Philadelphia, originally built in the 1800s in a Victorian style, and it is a nonprofit Life Plan Community just minutes from Center City. On campus, residents can access independent living, personal care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing and memory care. The community has three art studios, and several resident artists, musicians, poets and authors have made it their home.

Care & support
The personal care program is for people who want to live independently but need some daily assistance with tasks such as bathing and dressing, and it includes medication management, appointments and transportation.
Personal care is offered in studio and one-bedroom apartments in two neighborhoods, Carson Commons and Wesley Commons.
The Comfort Haven memory support neighborhood serves seniors living with memory impairment, with a structured program that combines enrichment and help with daily living, plus individualized care plans.
The Flanagan Health and Rehabilitation Center provides a full range of skilled nursing care and specialized therapies for short- or long-term needs.
The rehabilitation center has a fireside lounge, a dining room and 20 private and semi-private rooms with private baths, with the physical therapy suite next to residents' rooms.
Therapy services include speech therapy for swallowing and cognitive challenges, occupational therapy for bathing, dressing and daily routines, and physical therapy focused on mobility, balance and strength.
Residents in the Health Care Center have 24/7 supervision available from a licensed healthcare professional.
Through Simpson HomeCare, seniors who have not moved in can receive care at home in increments ranging from one hour to 24/7 care.
Rooms & living spaces
Independent living offers studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts at The Cornerstone and Carson Apartments, and each apartment at Olde Main is uniquely designed.
Olde Main apartments have been renovated with updated kitchens or kitchenettes, generous closets and large windows overlooking the campus, while The Cornerstone has kitchens, open living areas and balconies.
Personal care apartments have temperature controls, a private bathroom and spacious closets.
Everyday life
Services include all utilities, basic cable TV, bi-weekly housekeeping, 24-hour emergency response, transportation to community activities, security staff and reserved parking for residents.
Pets are welcome.

Dining options include fine dining with tableside hibachi cooking, a bistro, a private dining room, private catering and a flexible meal plan.
Activities & connection
Activities include concerts, fitness programs, spiritual growth opportunities, arts and craft classes, games, drama and choir, along with exercise, dance and yoga classes.
The community offers venues and classes for artists, musicians, poets, painters and writers, and residents can start new interest groups with support from staff.
Shared spaces & amenities
Amenities include a fitness center, a movie theater, an art studio, a hair salon and spa, a gift shop, a library, a wellness center, a game area with a pool table and shuffleboard, and community meeting spaces.
The grounds include private gardens, outdoor patio spaces and garden plots where residents can grow flowers, herbs or vegetables.
