Care & support

An on-site skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, Bishop White Lodge, provides 24-hour care for Cathedral Village residents, including long- and short-term nursing, rehabilitation therapy, respite and hospice services.

The nursing team frequently treats post-acute needs including cardiac rehabilitation, joint replacement and fractures, stroke and neurologic events, post-surgical recovery, IV therapy and dysphagia.

Skilled nursing includes care for people with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory impairment, and discharge planning support for respite or short-stay rehabilitation.

End of life and comfort care offers emotional and spiritual support for residents with terminal illness and their families, with ongoing staff training in pain management.

Rooms & living spaces

Independent living apartments include studios, one- and two-bedroom homes, and country and Rittenhouse apartments ranging from about 340 to 1,700 square feet.

Many apartments have patios or balconies overlooking wooded surroundings.

Apartment features include individually controlled heat and air conditioning, a refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher or washer and dryer in most models. The community is pet friendly and smoke free.

Dining includes The Fireside Café with cafeteria-style service and The Village Pub with restaurant-style dining.

Menus range from traditional entrées to heart-healthy selections, with daily specials, made-to-order sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts.

Activities & connection

Residents run clubs and activities including arts and crafts, bridge, Mah Jongg and Scrabble clubs, bird watching, gardening, a readers club, a resident chorus and the Village College program.

The community has more than 50 resident committees.

Shared spaces & amenities

On-site amenities include an aquatic and fitness center, clay and fine arts studios, a woodworking studio, a greenhouse, a village store, a beauty and barber salon and guest accommodations.

A full-time fitness director develops individualized fitness programs, and the pool hosts swimming and aqua-aerobics classes.

A social room with a ping pong table, pool table and board games, and a library are available to residents.
