Each resident receives an emergency response pendant to summon staff assistance, and the emergency response system operates 24/7.
Bridges is an independent living community and does not provide personal care itself. Residents who need help with tasks such as bathing or medication set-up can choose from home health agencies in the area.
Rooms & living spaces
Residences are maintenance-free, with building, grounds and in-apartment maintenance provided. Two fully furnished temporary stay suites of 640 square feet each have views of downtown Waterloo.
Furnished one-bedroom guest apartments can be reserved for visiting family and friends, and cable TV is included.
Everyday life
Housekeeping and laundry are included, with coin-free laundry rooms on each floor for additional loads. Dogs and cats are welcome, with size restrictions.
Unlimited scheduled transportation is provided at no charge in handicap-accessible vehicles.
Dining & meals
The San Souci Restaurant is open from 7 am to 6:30 pm, so residents choose when and where they eat from an extensive menu with daily specials, fresh soup and a salad bar.
A complimentary snack and beverage counter and a private dining room are also available.

Events are scheduled throughout the day and evening, residents can start new activities, and a full-time event coordinator plans programs. Outings go to local establishments and surrounding attractions.
