Care & support
Around-the-clock nursing helps with eating, bathing, dressing and personal care, and the nursing staff have permanent assignments. The home also offers on-site dental care.
Onsite health services include monthly visits from an optometrist, a dental clinic run with VCU's School of Dentistry, a special needs podiatry clinic and an ear irrigation clinic.
Occupational, speech and physical therapy are provided, along with adaptive technology, power wheelchair evaluation and a full-time wheelchair technician on staff.
Social workers offer case management and advance care planning, and a full-time chaplain provides spiritual support.
Rooms & living spaces
Every resident has a private room that can be decorated and personalized. Daily housekeeping, weekly laundry service, Wi-Fi throughout the campus and basic cable TV are included.

All three meals plus snacks are included. A registered dietitian nutritionist develops a nutrition care plan for each resident, and an executive chef leads the kitchen.
Activities & connection
The recreation department runs programs seven days a week, including gardening, arts and crafts, socials, swimming in a heated pool, a daily Rec Cafe, music therapy and a choir.
Adaptive sports, adventure outings and a Travel Scholarship Program, offered since 2006, take residents on trips such as Walt Disney World and beach vacations.

Campus amenities include a full-size therapeutic pool, a multi-use gymnasium, a hair salon, banking services, a library and a guest house next door where family members may stay at no charge.
