Complex care is provided around the clock by Licensed Practical Nurses and Resident Care Aides.

Special care and dementia care are provided for residents who need a calm and safe environment, by staff with education and experience in dementia care.

An occupational therapist and/or physiotherapist are available part-time to assess residents and recommend seating, equipment, exercise and rehabilitation programs.

A part-time social worker provides psychosocial assessments, counselling and advocacy for residents and families.

A dentist visits regularly at no additional cost, and a foot care nurse is available at the resident's own cost.

Everyday life

Housekeeping is provided daily in resident rooms and common areas, and the lodge supplies linens and launders residents' personal clothing, seven days a week.

A hairdresser is available several days a week at the resident's own cost.

Family and Resident Councils give families and residents a voice, and residents, families and friends are encouraged to volunteer. Staff also help residents manage their Comfort Fund at no charge.

Dining & meals

Three hot-plated meals and two snacks are served each day in the dining rooms, with tray service during illness. Meal times are 8:30 to 9:30 am, noon to 1 pm, and 5 to 6 pm.

A dietitian oversees meals, meets each resident or family on admission to learn dietary needs and preferences, and menus follow a four-week rotating cycle that changes seasonally.

Families and friends are welcome to join residents for meals for a nominal cost.

Activities & connection

Recreation and social programs run seven days a week and include exercise, games, social gatherings and entertainment, with some programs one-to-one and others in small or large groups.

Pet, art and music programs, church services, and outings to places such as museums, special events and shopping are offered.
