About this community
Abe’s Garden Community is a Nashville nonprofit senior living campus at 115 Woodmont Boulevard offering independent living, assisted living and memory support. The community was founded in honor of Abram Shmerling, MD, whose Alzheimer’s diagnosis led his family to seek better dementia care, and it uses the I’m Still Here approach to engagement in its memory support program. Home care and day program services extend the campus offerings to older adults who live elsewhere.

Care & support
Assisted living staff help with daily activities including medication management, dressing and bathing, and the care team is led by a full-time registered nurse with care available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Assisted living services include wellness checks, help with bathing, dressing, mobility and continence support, 24-hour emergency call and response systems, and emergency alert pendants.
On-site healthcare services include audiology, dental care, hospice care, nurse practitioner services, occupational, physical and speech therapy, and podiatry care.
Memory support team members receive dementia-care training, and the I’m Still Here approach uses meaningful activities and specialized communication techniques to engage residents.
Rooms & living spaces
Assisted living apartments come in five designs from studios to two-bedrooms, with private and semi-private options.
Assisted living apartments have kitchenettes with a sink, small refrigerator and microwave, emergency pull cords and grab bars in bathrooms, nine-foot ceilings, individual climate control and bathrooms with showers. Some have balconies overlooking wooded grounds.
Independent living floor plans range from a 397 square foot studio to a 1,154 square foot deluxe two-bedroom, and assisted living plans range from studios of about 360 square feet to a 760 square foot two-bedroom.

Assisted living residents have restaurant-style dining, with daily breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the monthly rent.
Activities & connection
A full-time resident life engagement team offers a full calendar of social activities along with wellness and brain health programs.
