Capitol Lakes is a life plan community in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, just down the road from the University of Wisconsin campus. The continuum of care includes independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing and rehab, and home care.
Assisted living, memory support and skilled nursing are open to the public for direct admission and do not require an entrance fee.
Assisted living has caregivers on duty around the clock and licensed vocational nurses on staff, with staffing above state requirements.
Residents who move between levels of care stay on the same campus.
Rooms & living spaces
Residences include one- and two-bedroom apartments, with some floor plans that add a den.
Residents can customize their apartment before moving in, and pets are welcome.
Dining & meals
Two on-site restaurants serve different styles of meals: Seasons is a semiformal dining room with a private dining room that can be reserved for parties, and Henry Street Café specializes in breakfast and lunch classics.
Menus feature seasonal and holiday flavors, including dishes such as Caribbean or traditional Irish food.

Residents can attend art shows and trivia nights, join the gardening committee, and take part in fitness classes.
