The community is a skilled nursing facility certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, with registered nurses and physical, speech and occupational therapists.

Around-the-clock on-site nursing and personal care are provided, along with medication management and personalized care plans based on each elder's preferences.

Medical team members include a physician, nurse practitioner, wound care specialist, podiatrist, dentist and eye care specialist, with mobile X-ray and laboratory services.

Services include wound care management, neuro-rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery recovery, stroke recovery, hospice care and respite care.

Elders with memory issues receive specialized care from the skilled nursing staff in a Memory Care Cottage.

Short-stay therapy includes physical, speech, occupational and neuromuscular therapy, gait and strength training, and community re-entry training, with help planning the return home.

Each cottage has 12 bedrooms with private bathrooms, and each elder has a spacious private room.

Rooms are climate-controlled with hospital-grade adjustable beds, closet and storage space, cable TV, high-speed internet, locked in-room medicine cabinets and walk-in showers with handrails.

Daily housekeeping and laundry services are provided.

Elders choose when to wake and start their day, can move freely around the property including outdoor areas, and have no mandatory activity schedule.

The same core staff care for the same small group of residents, a practice called consistent assignment.

Friends and family are encouraged to visit often, and visiting pets are welcome.

Meals are homestyle and made to order by professional chefs, and each cottage has a full kitchen with a full-time chef.

Elders choose when and what to eat and whether to dine alone or with others, family style, and can take part in cooking and kitchen activities.

Activities at home and around town include community block parties, Trunk or Treat, trips to Oaklawn Casino and Resort, a petting zoo and an annual foam party.

Birthdays, holidays and other special occasions are celebrated, and elders pick the activities they are drawn to.

Each cottage has comfortable common areas for visits and shared meals, a spa and hair salon, and the community has a therapy gym and outdoor areas.
