About this community
Pennybyrn is a not-for-profit, faith-based continuing care retirement community on a 71-acre campus between Jamestown, High Point and Greensboro, North Carolina. It was founded in 1947 by the Sisters of the Poor Servants of the Mother of God and serves people of all faiths. Levels of care on campus include retirement living in cottages and apartments, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing healthcare households, transitional rehabilitation and adult day services.

Care & support
At Taylor Village Assisted Living, licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants and medical technicians are available 24 hours a day. They assist with dressing, bathing, grooming, medication management, dining, mobility and transfers, continence care and personal laundry.
Assisted living support is modeled to fit each individual, and residents can choose preferred mealtimes, bedtimes and favorite activities. Physical, occupational and speech therapists are available as needed.
Rooms & living spaces
Retirement living apartments are one-bedroom or two-bedroom with den, from 770 to 1,700 square feet, in 21 floor plans. Each has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, balcony or patio, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and an emergency call system.
Cottages are also offered, and most include an attached garage or carport. Assisted living apartments at Taylor Village have one and two-bedroom plans with private baths for individuals or couples.
Everyday life
Retirement living services include weekly housekeeping, weekly laundering of linens and towels, interior and exterior maintenance, landscaping, and on-site security 24 hours a day. Assisted living adds scheduled transportation for shopping and appointments.
Dining & meals
Registered dietitians and chefs provide three meals each day in assisted living and plan diets for specific medical and health needs. Retirement living offers both elevated and casual dining experiences.
Activities & connection
Activities planned and shaped by residents include an arts and crafts studio, woodworking shop, gardening spaces, a billiards room, a book club and writers' group, bridge clubs, chorale and drama groups, volunteer opportunities and guest speakers.
Spiritual opportunities for residents of all faiths include interdenominational services, visits from area clergy, spiritual retreats, daily celebration of the Eucharist and a Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
Shared spaces & amenities
Campus amenities include an indoor heated saltwater pool with a Jacuzzi spa, a fitness center with cardio and strength training, a fitness studio for group classes, massage therapy, scenic walking and biking trails, and membership at Jamestown Park Golf Course.
Assisted living has a sunlit dining room, indoor and outdoor socializing areas and an on-site beauty and barber salon.

The campus is in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina, with mature trees, gardens and shaded walking trails winding among the cottages, apartments and healthcare households.
