American Orchards Assisted Living & Memory Care

Assisted living services include medication administration and management, assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating and transferring, and incontinence care and restroom assistance.

Each service plan is developed with input from the resident, family members and medical professionals. Care staff coordinate with home health, therapy, medical specialists and hospice providers.

The nursing care team may assist with diabetic care, oxygen care, wound care, catheter care and colostomy care, and monitors residents by recording vitals and tracking wellness.

Memory care is for residents with Alzheimer's disease, Lewy Body, Frontal Temporal and other forms of dementia, with certified caregivers providing round-the-clock care.

The memory care program, called Pathways of Promise, focuses on cognitive function, social interaction, physical health and spiritual well-being. Residents with similar types of dementia are grouped together in a Needs-Centric Home Model.

Family support programs help relatives understand dementia and the challenges that come with it.

The community uses care technology including a care management system, a resident call system, a customizable fall management system, 24/7 video monitoring, and a community emergency power backup system.

Assisted living accommodations include the Aspen Suite (about 368 sq. ft.), the Juniper Companion Suite (about 475 sq. ft.), the Elm Studio (about 334 sq. ft.) and the Cypress Companion Studio (about 330 sq. ft.).

Each residence has a private bathroom, zero transition flooring and individual climate control. The Aspen Suite also has a small kitchenette with a fridge and sink.

The Cedar Memory Care Studio is about 198 sq. ft. and is designed for memory care, with a private half bathroom and a pocket door to the bathroom. These studios are placed close to living areas.

Three meals per day are included, with multiple menu options. Snacks, coffee and beverages are available around the clock.

Dining options include indoor and outdoor dining, view-in kitchens and food prep stations, tray card service, and special occasion dining events on holidays.

A Culinary Director leads the culinary team and prepares daily menus. Menus use fresh ingredients that are locally sourced whenever possible.

The Soul Purpose wellness program offers an hourly activity schedule in both assisted living and memory care, led by trained activity directors and coordinators.

Activities include music, art, pet and aroma therapies, brain fitness programs, fitness classes such as yoga and strength and balance, dance classes, and resident clubs for books, knitting, painting, movies and more.

Residents can take part in group outings for cultural events and shopping, park picnics and nature walks, spa services, and special event parties.

Community features include wrap-around porches, large windows and skylights, multi-purpose common rooms, outdoor common areas with covered seating and walking paths, therapeutic garden areas with raised flower beds, an on-site library, beauty salons, a sensory room and game tables.

Housekeeping and laundry services are provided once a week and as needed, along with WiFi and a beauty salon. The community is pet friendly.

Transportation is available for outside appointments, events and activities. A general store managed by residents is open during normal business hours.

The community is at 765 N Lindsay Road in Gilbert, on the southwest corner of Lindsay Road and Guadalupe Road, and serves Gilbert, Mesa and Chandler.
