Care & support
Personal care staff help with grooming, bathing, medication administration, housekeeping and laundry, and nursing services such as glucose and blood pressure monitoring and injections are offered. Residents choose from a menu of individual services rather than an all-inclusive fee.
Zurn Pavilion is a memory support unit with 21 rooms, most of them private, a courtyard and an individualized plan of care. Staff are routinely trained in dementia care.
Skilled nursing care is provided 24 hours a day for short-term rehabilitation and long-term residency. Reed House has 102 private rooms, two shared rooms, a dedicated short-term rehabilitation wing and a unit for residents who need memory support.
The rehabilitation team includes physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapists, with therapy offered seven days a week as ordered by a physician. Long-term care residents can also receive therapy when needed, and a restorative nursing program and wound care are offered.
Respite stays are offered in any level of care for recovery after a hospital stay or to give family caregivers a break.
Rooms & living spaces
Apartments include studios of about 270 square feet, one-bedrooms of 400 to 780 square feet and two-bedrooms of 830 to 1000 square feet. Furnished apartments and short-term leases are available.
The monthly apartment fee includes daily meals in the dining room, monthly housekeeping, weekly linen exchange and utilities including cable.
Dining & meals
Cooks prepare homemade meals. Breakfast is cooked to order, two entree choices are served at lunch and dinner, and menus are written by a registered dietitian. A take-out service is available for residents who prefer not to eat in the dining room.
Registered dietitians monitor special diets, and a Resident Food Committee lets residents suggest menu ideas.
Activities & connection
An activities team plans exercise, games, arts and crafts, monthly birthday socials with live entertainment, and trips to restaurants, the beach and holiday lights.
An interdenominational chapel hosts prayer services, Catholic masses, rosary, communion services, Bible discussions and hymn singing.
Shared spaces & amenities
Shared spaces include a library with large-print books, an atrium with a baby grand piano, lounges, a recreation room, a billiard and game room, two beauty shops, a chapel, laundry facilities and an arts and crafts room.
Residents with cars receive a reserved indoor garage space and a garage door opener at no additional cost.
An outdoor patio above street level is used for gardening and family visits, and the nursing home expansion has a courtyard.
