Care & support
Assisted living services include medication monitoring, personal care, bathing assistance, day and night monitoring, meal reminders and escorts to meals and events.
Assisted living services are available in all private pay and funded suites, and personal laundry and additional housekeeping services are part of the offering.
Fraser Health partners with Augustine House to provide subsidized assisted living services for seniors who need personal care supports.
Augustine House received the Seal of Approval designation from the BC Seniors Living Association every year from 2011 to 2020.
Rooms & living spaces
Suites come in studio/alcove, one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts, with an open design that leaves room for family and friends to visit.
Every suite has individual climate control and an in-suite personal emergency response system, and a guest suite provides overnight accommodation for visitors.
Dining & meals
A continental breakfast is served daily, with lunch and dinner in the dining room. Meals are prepared by a Red Seal Chef, using locally sourced food prepared from scratch wherever possible.
Guest meals, international features and special event dining are offered, and a private dining room is available for special occasions.
Activities & connection
Programs include fitness classes focused on balance, strength, range of motion and stamina, along with team trivia, card games, birthday and special teas, and programs for intellectual stimulation.
Happy Hour is held twice a week in the Main Lounge, with live music and entertainment on Fridays and a quieter social hour on Tuesdays.
Weekly church services from a variety of religious affiliations are held, and residents have access to a 24-hour chapel on the third floor. Intergenerational programs and bus trips to theatres and restaurants are also offered.
Shared spaces & amenities
Common spaces include a grand foyer, a computer lounge and library, a billiard and games room, fireside lounges, a media room with a large projection screen, garden patios, balconies and a greenhouse.
The monthly residency fee covers meals, utilities including heat and hydro, weekly housekeeping, complimentary laundry facilities on every floor, exercise equipment and scheduled bus service.
A hair salon and barbershop, dry cleaning pick-up and delivery, and free Wi-Fi in all common areas are also available.
Accessibility
The building features raised electrical outlets, lowered rocker light switches, and levered door handles and plumbing fixtures, and a wheelchair accessible bus is available.
