Care & support
Long-term care at AgeCare Carlton is for people with complex, unpredictable medical needs who cannot remain at home or in a supportive living setting.
A Registered Nurse Care Leader oversees resident care and leads an interdisciplinary team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, health care aides, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, recreational therapists and social workers.
Staff support residents' daily routines, including morning and evening assistance, help with meals, bathing support and medication management.
Rooms & living spaces
The residence has bright, private and semi-private suites. It is organized into four care neighbourhoods, two on each floor, each with its own dining room, activity lounge, quiet lounges and bath spa.
Housekeeping and laundry are included: rooms are cleaned weekly and washrooms daily or as needed, and bedding, linens and towels are provided and laundered.
Everyday life
Guests are welcome to visit at any time, day or night, in the resident's room or one of the lounges, and may join for meals and take part in programs and events.
Daily activities for the mind, body and soul are offered, and family lounges are available in the common areas.
Dining & meals
Meals are prepared fresh daily and served three times a day with beverages and snacks, and may be enjoyed in the dining room or in the resident's suite.
Menus are planned by Red Seal executive chefs and dietitians. The kitchen offers vegetarian options, food textures matched to chewing and swallowing abilities, mealtime assistance, and special event and holiday menus.
Accessibility
The building was designed for long-term care with wide hallways, handrails, barrier-free suites, accessible ensuite bathrooms and an emergency call system.
