Horizons Living & Rehab Center

Licensed nurses are on duty 24 hours a day, and a house doctor and team provide medical management. Certified nurses' aides assist residents with daily living.

Physical, occupational and speech therapists provide rehabilitative and restorative care for people recovering from strokes, injuries, illness or surgery. Rehabilitation services are offered seven days a week.

Therapeutic exercise programs aim to improve flexibility, strength, balance and mobility, and speech therapy works on communication skills and cognitive functions.

Therapists and the care team take part in planning a return home, helping families locate home based services and local support groups.

Social services staff help residents with emotional or social concerns.

Rooms are fully furnished private and semi-private rooms, and residents can bring select items from home. The rooms have views of a natural, rural setting.

Horizons plans meals around the seasons, and in summer residents tend raised garden beds whose vegetables appear in dishes on the summer menu. Seafood comes from Cantrell's Seafood.

The meal service aims to meet residents' individual tastes and dietary needs.

Activities include educational programs, games, exercise activities and paint parties, with an art room on site. Activities staff help residents pursue lifelong hobbies and new interests, and schedules are flexible.

The center has a dining room, an art room, a therapy room and a salon.
