Care & support
Long-term care is designed for people who can no longer be cared for at home or in assisted living, supporting physical and emotional needs over months or years.
Convalescent care uses an interdisciplinary, person-centered approach for residents recovering from a prolonged illness, injury or surgery. Stays run from seven to a maximum of 90 days, with the goal of getting residents home safely.
Restorative care is integrated throughout the home to help residents maintain or improve their functional and cognitive capacities in daily living.
Care teams work with families to tailor individualized care plans, including end-of-life care, and receive enhanced palliative care training through a partnership with Pallium Canada.
Rooms & living spaces
Private rooms are available, including a private bathroom. Shared rooms (semi-private, basic or standard) are matched by gender and compatible routines.
All rooms are fully furnished with a bed, closet or wardrobe, chair and bedside table. Bedding, linens, housekeeping, maintenance and laundry services are included.
Everyday life
On admission, each new resident is greeted by their primary Personal Support Worker and a member of the Residents Council, and receives a welcome package with a rose placed in the new room.
Families meet a single contact person on admission who spends half a day answering questions and introducing them to staff. A Social Worker is available to talk privately about the stress and emotions of caregiving.
Visitors are welcome seven days a week with no specific visiting hours.
Activities & connection
The activity calendar includes music programs for residents with dementia, worship services, exercise classes and visits with volunteers.
Two outings are organized each month, including shopping, lunch, movies, theatre and picnics at the conservation area. Every Christmas, residents tour the city to see festive lights.
Community events include an Antique Car Show organized with a local car club and an annual Family Fun Day barbecue with carnival games and a dog agility show. Local students visit to trick-or-treat at Halloween and sing carols at Christmas.
