Care & support
Springhouse offers independent living, assisted living and memory support on campus. It describes itself as a Life Plan community, not a traditional nursing home.
Independent living does not include caregiver help with daily activities in the standard monthly fee. Residents may hire private in-home caregivers or arrange separate community services if offered.
Assisted living provides personalized extra help when daily activities become challenging, in a dedicated residential setting with access to community amenities and programs.
Memory support includes a secure, easy-to-navigate setting, help with daily activities, medication management and limited medication assistance, with a trained team on site 24/7. Its approach also emphasizes autonomy and relationships with families.
Memory support also includes daily housekeeping and weekly personal laundry and linen service.
Rooms & living spaces
Independent-living apartments include one-bedroom, one-bedroom-plus-den and two-bedroom layouts. Many have step-out patios or balconies and modern fixtures and finishes.
The den plan offers flexible space for an office or creative projects; the two-bedroom layout has a second bathroom.
Apartments have fully equipped kitchens, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and a washer and dryer.
Memory support offers studio apartments with private bathrooms.
Everyday life
For independent-living residents, listed services include scheduled housekeeping, a 24-hour emergency call system and building security, utilities except internet and cable, a landline, resident and guest parking, and upkeep of common areas and grounds, including snow removal. Scheduled transportation is offered for shopping and medical appointments.
Dining & meals
The main dining room and bistro, Allandale Grill, serve fresh, chef-prepared meals. For independent living, dinner each evening is included, with breakfast and lunch available to purchase.
Memory support has a bright dining room with a fresh menu, three meals a day and snacks.
Activities & connection
Independent-living programs include gardening, book and poetry groups, art classes, cocktail socials, balance and chair-yoga classes, strength training, bridge and Scrabble, live entertainment, spiritual gatherings, volunteering and local excursions.
Shared spaces & amenities
Campus amenities include a community garden, walking trails, café and art gallery, art studio, and an outdoor patio with a water feature. There is also a day spa offering manicure, pedicure, massage and hair services, plus a card and game room and library.
Location & getting around
The campus is across the street from Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum, with walking trails on the grounds.

The entrance fee is described as 90% rebatable when the resident leaves or moves to a higher care setting, provided the apartment has been reoccupied. Contact Springhouse for current contract details.
