About this community

King's Bridge Retirement Community is a not-for-profit senior living community in Northeast Atlanta, offering independent living, assisted living and memory care. The community opened in September 1985 on a hilltop campus above Briarcliff and Clairmont Roads, and was founded with land donated by leaders of Briarcliff Baptist Church. Residents have restaurant-style dining, an on-site fitness center, a staffed Wellness Center and a calendar of activities.

Assisted living residents have their own apartment and can receive help with daily living activities such as meals, getting dressed or bathing.

Memory care provides a warm, inviting environment, and the community is licensed to serve residents with mild to moderate memory loss and cognitive impairment.

The Wellness Center is staffed seven days a week, and every resident has access to 24-hour emergency assistance on site, including vital sign checks and basic first aid.

Personal Care, Inc., a separate private home care agency with an office in the building, offers private-pay caregiving at every level of care, and residents may also arrange other caregivers.

Rooms & living spaces

Four floor plans are offered: studios, one-bedrooms, one-bedrooms with a study, and two-bedroom, two-bath apartments.

The three assisted living floor plans are a one-bedroom of 625 square feet, a one-bedroom with study of 788 square feet and a two-bedroom of 938 square feet.

Assisted living apartments were designed with features that make them easier and safer for older adults who have mobility issues or are at risk of falling.

Everyday life

Staff handle chores so independent living residents can spend time on hobbies, friends and family, with dining, exercise and entertainment steps from home.

On-site technology support helps residents with their electronic devices, including staying connected with family and friends.

A calendar of diverse activities is provided, including book discussions, Bible studies, volunteer and service projects and a wellness program.

Residents take off-campus excursions to museums, cafés, shows and concerts.

Amenities include an on-site fitness center, exercise classes on the activity schedule, and landscaped grounds with courtyards that have water features, flowers and bird feeders.

Accessibility

The Wellness Center offers transportation to scheduled medical appointments at no charge.

The campus sits atop a hill above Briarcliff and Clairmont Roads in Northeast Atlanta, among the Druid Hills, Emory and Brookhaven neighborhoods.
