Care & support
Deerfield provides a full continuum of care on site, from independent living to assisted living to skilled nursing, as part of its Life Care model.
Licensed nursing staff are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and an emergency call system in each home summons nursing and security.
Haden Hall, the assisted living residence, has 60 apartments including 20 large suites, and residents receive help with bathing, dressing and monitoring of medications as needed.
The Simonds Health Care Center is a Medicare-approved facility with 24-hour care in 62 private rooms grouped in neighborhoods with sitting areas and common spaces.
Physical, occupational and speech therapies are offered on site with licensed therapists, and the on-site Deerfield Clinic, overseen by MAHEC, is staffed five mornings a week.

Independent living options include 94 cottages, 18 villas, 13 timbers and 252 apartment homes.
Dining & meals
The main dining venue for lunch and dinner offers cafeteria-style dining with a carving station, salad and soup bar and dessert station, with outdoor dining on the Patio and Veranda.
The Riverwalk Cafe serves breakfast and lunch, Canon's Corner is a beverage lounge with beer and wine, and a private dining room accommodates up to 42 people.
The Simonds Health Care Center has its own dining room serving three meals a day.
Activities & connection
Social activities include poker, duplicate and social bridge, croquet, bocce ball, concerts, musical groups and lecture series, plus monthly special events on Deerfield Day.
Fitness classes include yoga, tai chi, Pilates, dance and weekly guided hikes, and arts offerings cover pottery, fiber arts, photography, drawing, painting and woodworking.
Residents volunteer in the Asheville area, including building houses for Habitat for Humanity and delivering Meals on Wheels.
Deerfield provides transportation to events and performances at venues such as Flat Rock Playhouse and the Asheville Symphony.
Shared spaces & amenities
The Health and Wellness Center includes a cafe and deli, arts and fiber arts studios, a pottery kiln, a weight and aerobics studio and a day spa.
The 20,000-square-foot glass-enclosed Aquatic Center has a lap and aerobics pool and a warm-water therapy pool, and offers lap swimming, aquatic therapy and water aerobics classes.
St. Giles Chapel on the campus is open daily for contemplation and prayer, and a Memorial Garden has paths through native rhododendron to a small waterfall.
