Nurses are on site 24 hours a day for wellness visits and urgent medical concerns, and a Registered Nurse determines assisted living care levels based on activities of daily living needs.

Four care levels range from verbal cueing with dressing and bathing to maximum assistance with dressing, bathing, toileting and transfers. Higher levels include escorts to meals and activities and one-to-one programming.

Residents receive an individual wellness check by a nurse each month, with weekly on-site physician visits and on-site physical and occupational therapy. Dental, vision, podiatry, lab draws and X-ray are available on site.

Floor plans include studio, one-bedroom and Grand Suite apartment homes with individual climate control. Many have a patio or balcony, and most homes at The Orchard include a washer and dryer and a full kitchen.

The 82 apartment homes are divided among four neighborhoods: 9 independent apartments at The Orchards, 49 assisted living apartments at The Gardens, 8 memory care apartments at The Vineyard and 16 specialized care apartments at The Palms.

Services include maintenance of the apartment home, building and grounds, weekly housekeeping and laundry based on lifestyle option, and scheduled local transportation.

Utilities except telephone are included, along with satellite television and wifi.

Dining options include up to three chef-prepared meals a day with snacks and refreshments. The large, sunny dining room overlooks the apple orchard, and a private dining room is available.

Common spaces include enclosed courtyards, gardens and walking paths, patios with glider swings, a chapel, a library and computer lounge, an aviary, a hair salon and a TV lounge.

A rehabilitation and fitness center, a multipurpose recreation room and a relaxation room are also on site.

Each apartment home has a 24-hour emergency response system, and Wanderguard and pendant systems are available.

Hillside Terrace Senior Living is at 1939 Jackson Ave in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on the old west side close to the University campus and convenient to shopping, culture and healthcare. Memory care is next door at 1937 Jackson Avenue.
